In the early 1970's Gorge Rock began supplying ready mix concrete to areas surrounding Flaming Gorge Reservoir. After operating for several years, however, company founder Don Winter determined that a better opportunity existed 60 miles to the northeast in Green River, Wyoming. Gorge Rock relocated to the present site on the banks of the Green River was in 1979, where the company continues operations today.
In 2001, Gorge Rock was acquired, making it the first out of state venture owned by Clyde Companies, Incorporated.
Gorge Rock owns and operates a strong fleet of front discharge and conventional mixer trucks and two batch plants in Sweetwater County, making Gorge Rock the leading supplier of ready mixed concrete in area.
